Urban Oasis in the Heart of London Brick Lane

Positive: Communication with the host was excellent. Great location, especially at short notice, everything in easy walking distance. Negative: It was not a dislike, but the access to the flat was part of the cafe downstairs, so the stairs leading to the flat were being used as storage. Unusual but not the end of the world.

Unsanitary, doesn't meet its potential. Positive: • The communication from the host was good both prior to our stay and during, whilst trying to sort out the many issues. • The location of the apartment is great. Only 4 minutes walk to the tube at Aldegate East, 5 minutes walk from Spitalfields market. • Comfy bed with clean laundered linen Negative: • The main entrance to the apartment. We struggled a little with instructions to enter as there are many keypads on the door. There were also several men loitering outside the door which felt slightly intimidating at times • The apartment was FILTHY. Marks, stains and dirt everywhere. Kitchen equipment unusable due to grime. • There was no running water upon our arrival - turns out that they had to replace some taps in one of the businesses below so water had been switched off for a short time. • When faced with what we had walked into, we immediately wanted to cancel the booking and go elsewhere, but the hosts refused any kind of refund. • The apartment is listed as being above a coffee shop, and that description may sound quite delightful (their caramel latte's are fab) but what it fails to mention is that there is also a curry house kitchen on the floor inbetween. We stayed in August so it was hot, we had the windows open, and we smelt nothing but curry throughout the entire day and night. • The corridors and 4 FLIGHTS OF STAIRS were often cluttered and dirty, with tools or binbags left on the steps and workers lurking on the second corridor, which just led to that same feeling of unsafely. • No smoke alarms, no easily accessible fire escape. • Awful water pressure (once water had been switched back on!) You will struggle to flush the loo and the shower is more of a drizzle which flits constantly from hot to cold.

Ottima posizione vicino alla metro, ai supermercati, ai grattacieli e a Tower Bridge Positive: Appartamento ristrutturato, nuovissimo, pulito e con tutti gli accessori. Non c'è l'aria condizionata ma ci sono 2 bei ventilatori. Host gentilissima e disponibile ad ogni richiesta. Ha sempre risposto velocemente alle nostre richieste. Negative: E' stato un pò difficile trovare il civico perchè tutto sembra tranne l'ingresso ad un appartamento. Infatti è accanto ad un locale e non c'è nessuna insegna dell'Imperial Apartments. Comunque al telefono ci hanno dato indicazioni.

Convenient and clean Positive: Location very close to main station making it straightforward to get to Stansted for early flight Clean and they had made up second (sofa) bed in advance which was much appreciated Negative: Being high up studio was hot and due to noise of busy street below didn't want to open windows Kitchen ok for one night but limited if more nights booked.
