A Spacious Retreat in vibrant Whitechapel

Terrible Negative: Don’t stay here we had serious concern for our safety and found a new place to stay as we would not have felt secure whatsoever staying and sleeping there as the lock on the door can not be locked from the inside and is accessible by an electronic lock with a code on it so anybody who knew this code was able to access the apartment at any time, the host did not come to meet us so we had no reassurance about who knew the code and if it had been changed after the last guests, there was black stains on the pillow cases that looked like it could have been from mould, the back window looks down into a car park where the people in the car park can see into the kitchen if you were standing at the counter top and there were groups of men standing in the carpark looking up at us which was quite intimidating , the floors had chunks missing in them and a lot of the furniture was practically falling apart. There was rat traps all over the place which was concerning of the amount of rats that could be around and the entrance to the apartment wasn’t inviting at all there was mattresses and other items just thrown in the hallway.

Good option for a group who just need basic accommodation. Positive: Easy to find and short walk to nearest tube. Basic but clean accommodation and really good communication with host when an issue came up with shower needing fixed. Good as a base for a group travelling to London. Negative: A mop/broom would have been useful to have in the apartment especially to avoid slips in bathroom after showering.

Disappointing Stay with Safety, Noise, and Maintenance Issues Positive: The nearby Tesco was very handy for quick shopping, and the sofa bed was surprisingly comfortable and quiet, not like the beedrooms, allowing for a good night's sleep without disturbance. The stove and fridge were functional and met my needs during the stay. Negative: The apartment was disappointing overall. The area around Whitechapel Underground Station did not feel very safe, especially on arrival. There was no clear sign or reference to “Imperial,” making the property hard to find. I also received no access instructions and had to call twice to enter. The apartment door lock does not close automatically. The kitchen utensils and furniture were poor quality. The apartment was very noisy, with squeaky beds that made it hard to sleep. A lot of noise from streets and the shop below. The bathroom window lacked privacy, as people outside could see inside. Overall, the property needs improvements in communication, maintenance, security, noise control, and privacy. I would not recommend it if you want to have a good sleep.
